Dunne’s Impressions of the Track

After the session, Dunne expressed his satisfaction with both the performance and the track layout. He described the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve as enjoyable, noting similarities to the tracks in Miami and Melbourne.

  • Track Layout: A blend of normal and street circuit characteristics
  • Driver Satisfaction: “The track is really cool and enjoyable,” said Dunne.

Dunne noted that the track conditions were initially challenging due to dust. He commented, “It took a couple of laps to get into it, but I’m happy.”

Team Performance

With both Dunne and Stenshorne securing the top two spots, the duo signifies a strong start for Rodin Motorsport. Dunne acknowledged that even though he was fast, there were areas for improvement within their performance, stating, “There are still a few things that we can work on.”

Looking Ahead to Qualifying

The anticipation grows as the team prepares for Qualifying later today. Dunne emphasized that weather conditions will differ, with expected higher temperatures. As the tire compounds shift from Softs to Supersofts, he recognized that track conditions would evolve significantly.

  • Track Dust: “By far the dirtiest track I’ve ever driven on in F2,” Dunne remarked.
  • Anticipated Track Improvement: Dunne expects higher track evolution due to F1 practice sessions beforehand.

Dunne, who has achieved two pole positions in his Formula 2 career, feels confident about his chances in the upcoming qualifying round. When asked about his likelihood of adding another pole, he simply responded with enthusiasm, “Yes!”
