Girls on the Run Vermont is set to host an exciting 5K event on May 30, 2023. This occasion will take place at the Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Junction. The event is a celebration of the dedication of over 1,300 girls participating in the Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole programs throughout northern Vermont.
Event Details and Participation
Over 400 volunteer coaches and around 500 running buddies will support the participants. Additionally, more than 100 additional volunteers and supporters will be present, reflecting the strong community ties surrounding this initiative. The event is proudly supported by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont and is presented by M&T Bank.
Registration Information
The 5K is open to the public. All proceeds from the event will go towards the Every Girl Fund, ensuring that every girl in Vermont has the opportunity to participate in the Girls on the Run program through subsidies and financial assistance.
- Online registration is available until 10 p.m. on May 27.
- The registration fee is $10 for children aged 17 and under, as well as alumni.
- Adults participating as running buddies or community runners will pay a fee of $25.
- In-person registration will be from 4-6 p.m. on May 29 at the Expo.
- Event-day registration is open from 7:30-9:30 a.m. on May 30.
On the event day, fees remain at $10 for children and alumni, while adult fees will increase to $35.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are essential for the success of this event. There are various roles available, including course volunteers, face painters, and those who can assist with equipment setup and breakdown.
