Cairo Airport Launches Travel App Amid Passenger Increase
Passenger traffic at Cairo International Airport is on the rise, with a notable increase to 31 million travelers expected by 2025. This surge reflects a 37% annual growth, signaling a robust recovery and increased demand for air travel.
Cairo Airport Launches Travel App
To enhance the passenger experience, Cairo International Airport is set to debut a new travel application by the end of May. This app, developed over a two-year period, is designed to integrate with the airport’s database securely. It will provide travelers with essential services, including:
- Flight schedule checks
- Airline ticket booking
- Reservation of airport services, such as limousine transportation
The app aims to streamline operations and improve accessibility for all airport users. Currently, the airport operates at a capacity of about 71,000 travelers daily.
Digital Transformation at Cairo International Airport
In addition to the traveler-facing application, the Holding Company for Airports has implemented an internal digital transformation initiative this month. This includes:
- Electronic processing of administrative approvals
- The use of electronic signatures
- A comprehensive digital archive for official communications
These advancements aim to enhance efficiency and reduce delays associated with traditional paper-based procedures. Digital registration of documents now includes outgoing numbers and dates stored securely on company servers. Furthermore, this system is expected to connect with the Ministry of Civil Aviation and other related entities.
Commitment to Reducing Paper Usage
The transition to digital documentation is a key component of Cairo International Airport’s strategy to minimize its environmental impact. Following specialized training for employees, paper documents are being phased out, leading to:
- Reduction in paper and ink usage
- Lower energy consumption
These initiatives reflect the airport’s commitment to modernizing its operations while prioritizing sustainability. With the launch of the new travel app and these digital enhancements, Cairo International Airport is poised to better serve its growing number of passengers.
