Heat Warning Persists in Toronto and GTA Despite Thunderstorm Watch Ending

Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) have recently experienced a significant shift in weather patterns. Although the heat warning is now lifted, the region continues to feel the effects of high temperatures from earlier in the week.

Heat Warning and Temperature Highlights

The first heat event of the season saw Toronto reach a peak temperature of 30°C on Tuesday at 4 p.m. This high was compounded by humidity, raising the perceived temperature to approximately 36°C. However, as evening approached, a cool front swept in, dropping temperatures to around 10°C overnight.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch

On the same day, a severe thunderstorm watch was issued but has since been lifted. The initial warning highlighted conditions conducive to severe storms, which included strong winds and large hail. Thankfully, these storms did not materialize as expected.

Upcoming Weather Forecast

Temperatures are expected to drop significantly in the coming days. Here is a snapshot of the weather forecast:

  • Wednesday: High of 18°C, clear skies.
  • Thursday: High of 16°C, a mix of sun and clouds.
  • Friday: Cloudy, with a high of 15°C.
