Women’s Football: When is the Next International Break?

The Women’s Super League (WSL) season is currently underway, but fans should prepare for an upcoming international break. This break marks the first hiatus in domestic play for Europe’s top leagues this October.
Next International Break in Women’s Football
After the upcoming matchday, which is the sixth of the season, there will be a two-week recess as players head off for international duty. This international break is scheduled between October 17th and October 25th, 2025.
Key Dates for International Matches
- October 25, 2025 – England vs. Brazil
- October 28, 2025 – England vs. Australia
Both matches will occur during England’s homecoming tour following their successful performance in the European Championships held in the summer.
About the Matches
The Lionesses will face Brazil at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, kicking off at 17:30 BST. Their second match is against Australia at Pride Park in Derby, starting at 19:00 GMT.
Fans will be able to watch both fixtures live and for free on ITV. After the October friendlies, England will conclude their homecoming tour with matches against Ghana and China at the end of November.
Squad Announcement
England’s head coach, Sarina Wiegman, will announce the squad just before the friendlies. The 23-player team will be revealed on October 14th at 11 am. Following a triumphant summer, the squad is expected to closely resemble the one that brought home the European Championship trophy.
Millie Bright, the Chelsea defender, may return to the team after missing the Euro 2025 due to mental and physical challenges. She confirmed her potential return earlier this month.
