Clear Skies Return After Holiday, Heavy Rain Expected This Weekend

After several days of overcast and rainy weather, Seoul finally enjoyed clear skies as the recent holiday came to a close. The pleasant autumn weather is a welcome change, but forecasts indicate that rain is expected to return later this week.

Clear Skies for Holiday’s End

The first day of sunny weather following a series of rainy days was experienced in Seoul on November 3rd. Citizens took advantage of the clear skies, wearing light summer clothing and enjoying outdoor activities. Visibility greatly improved, with clear distances exceeding 40 kilometers.

Temperatures during this pleasant weather reached 29.5 degrees Celsius in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, while Seoul recorded a warmer-than-usual temperature of 26.9 degrees, surpassing the seasonal average by more than four degrees. In Seogwipo, Jeju Island, the temperature soared above 30 degrees for two consecutive days, indicating a hot summer-like spell.

Weekend Weather Warnings

The final day of the holiday is expected to continue with vibrant autumn conditions across the nation. However, warnings have been issued regarding the seas. Strong winds and high waves are anticipated along the southern and eastern coastlines.

  • Areas of concern include Busan, Ulsan, and the southern eastern coast of Gyeongbuk.
  • Residents are advised to be cautious of potential safety incidents due to rough sea conditions.

Returning Rain Forecast

Unfortunately, the clear weather will not last. Rain is forecasted to resume on Friday night, initially affecting Incheon and northern Gyeonggi provinces. By Saturday, the rain is expected to spread to central and northern regions.

The forecast predicts continuous rainfall extending through the following Tuesday. Notably, Monday will see rain in the Chungcheong region, while widespread precipitation is expected on Tuesday.

Stay informed and prepared as the weather transitions once again.
