UFL Expands Teams in Columbus, Louisville, Orlando

The United Football League (UFL) has announced exciting changes for the 2026 season. Three new teams will join the league, marking a significant expansion into new markets.

New Teams Joining UFL

The UFL has officially added the Columbus Aviators, Louisville Kings, and Orlando Storm. This expansion introduces professional football to passionate fanbases in these cities.

Team Locations

The new teams will utilize existing stadiums, enhancing the game day experience for fans. Here’s where they will play:

  • Columbus Aviators: Home games will take place at the Columbus MLS stadium.
  • Louisville Kings: Matches will be held at the local soccer venue.
  • Orlando Storm: Games will be played in the Orlando MLS facility.

UFL’s Vision for the Future

Mike Repole, co-owner of the UFL, expressed his enthusiasm for the new teams. He emphasized the deep sports culture in Columbus, Louisville, and Orlando, stating that these cities are ideal for professional football.

This expansion aims to improve attendance and enhance the viewing experience. The league hopes to fill stadiums and create a vibrant atmosphere for fans.

Rebranding and Relocations

In addition to the new teams, two existing teams will be rebranded and relocated:

  • Arlington Renegades: Will be renamed the Dallas Renegades, playing at the home stadium of the Dallas MLS franchise.
  • Houston Roughnecks: This team will become the Houston Gamblers and will move to the Houston MLS building.

Upcoming Season Details

The 2026 UFL season is set to kick off on March 27, 2026. This will be the third season since the merger of the XFL and USFL. The league aims to maintain eight teams initially, with plans to expand to 16 within the next decade.

As the UFL looks towards the future, the addition of Columbus, Louisville, and Orlando marks a strategic move to solidify its presence in the professional football landscape.
