Fortnite Servers Offline for Update 40.20 and Save the World

Epic Games has announced a scheduled server maintenance for Fortnite in conjunction with the release of update 40.20. This downtime will begin at 9 AM BST on April 16, 2023. Players will need to update their game to access its features once the servers are back online.

The maintenance kicks off at 4 AM ET (8 AM UTC), with matchmaking turning off at 8:30 AM BST. Players in the UK can anticipate the full server shutdown starting at 9 AM BST. The maintenance period is expected to last approximately two hours, meaning that Fortnite and its accompanying modes should be operational again by 11 AM BST.
Key Features of Update 40.20
This latest update is notable for making Save the World a free-to-play game. The new Save the World mode combines solo and co-op gameplay, allowing players to engage in PvE battles. Players will need to build defenses while rescuing survivors and uncovering a captivating storyline.
