John Victor Crosby (J.V.C) Martin, a dedicated officer of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), passed away unexpectedly on October 2, 2025, at the age of 77. His commitment to public service spanned an impressive 37.5 years, during which he earned substantial respect within the communities he served.

In retirement, J.V.C. Martin continued to exemplify dedication through over 14 years of volunteer work at the Sault Area Hospital. His warmth and compassion left a profound impact on many lives, making him a cherished figure in the community.
Family and Personal Life
John is survived by his loving wife, Micheline Bouchard. Together, they enjoyed numerous adventures exploring the world. His family includes children Erik Martin (Kristen), Kelly Martin (Jim), Christine Kensit (Peter), and Mark Kensit (Annette). He was also a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren: Gabriel, Freddy, Rolly, Ruby Martin, Izzy Martin, Marty Craig, Cooper Kensit-Uhlman, Charlotte, David, and Tyler Kensit.
John is remembered fondly by his beloved pet, Zoey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Hildred Martin, along with his in-laws, Gérard and Fernande Bouchard.
Funeral Arrangements
Family and friends can pay their respects at Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel on Thursday, October 9, 2025. Visiting hours will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Helen Smith.
