Explosive Found Near Shakira’s May Concert Venue in Rio

Authorities in Brazil have removed an explosive device discovered along the Copacabana beach promenade in Rio de Janeiro. This location is set to host a free concert by Colombian superstar Shakira on May 2. The device was identified as a stun grenade, a non-lethal weapon intended to temporarily disorient individuals with a bright flash and loud noise.
Details of the Stun Grenade Discovery
The Civil Police of Rio reported that their bomb squad was alerted about the explosive on Monday morning. They implemented standard protocols upon arrival to safely remove the device. It has since been taken for analysis.
