Sharks Name Macklin Celebrini 2025-26 Player of the Year

The San Jose Sharks have honored alternate captain Macklin Celebrini as their Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season. This recognition comes from a vote by the Bay Area media, highlighting his significant contributions to the team’s success during the regular season.
Macklin Celebrini’s Historic Achievement
At just 19 years old, Celebrini has made history by becoming only the fifth player to win the Sharks Player of the Year award in consecutive seasons. He joins the ranks of notable players like Joe Pavelski and Patrick Marleau.
Record-Breaking Points
During the 2025-26 season, Celebrini achieved remarkable milestones:
- Secured 108 points, the second-highest in Sharks history for a single season.
- Scored 42 goals, marking the fourth-highest total in a single season by a Shark.
- Registered 66 assists, ranking seventh for a season in franchise history.
- Established new franchise records for primary points (85) and even-strength points (76).
Entering the final stretch of the season, Celebrini has been instrumental in 46% of the Sharks’ total goals. He participated in 17 game-winning goals and noticeably influenced the team’s performance, leading them to a 35-18-4 record when he contributes at least one point.
Career Milestones
Celebrini reached the 100-point mark on November 29, achieving this milestone in just 96 games, making him the second-fastest Shark to do so. He also celebrated his 100th career game on December 7.
Throughout the season, he recorded a striking 13-game point streak, contributing to 9 goals and 18 assists. With three games remaining in the season, he has already notched 28 multi-point games and 17 matches with three or more points.
