Severe Storms, Hail, and Snow Forecasted Across Morocco

Morocco is bracing for severe weather conditions this weekend. The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued warnings for heavy thunderstorms and snowfall in various regions.
Severe Storms and Hail Across Morocco
On Friday, April 10, significant rainfall is expected in several provinces. Forecasts estimate precipitation amounts between 25 and 35 mm, with the possibility of hail accompanying the rain. Areas particularly affected include:
- Marrakech
- Settat
- Khouribga
- Al Haouz
- Khémisset
The rainfall is anticipated to begin around 2 PM and may continue until 11 PM, causing localized flooding and traffic disruptions.
Upcoming Snowfall Forecast
Following the stormy weather, significant snowfall is predicted to begin on Saturday, April 11. Snow accumulation could reach between 10 and 20 centimeters in high-altitude areas, such as those above 1,800 meters. Provinces most likely to experience these conditions include:
- Taza
- Figuig
- Jerada
- Taourirt
In addition to these, regions like Ifrane, Midelt, Béni Mellal, and Azilal are also expecting snow as the precipitation extends throughout the weekend.
