Capitals Promote Top Prospect Protas for Potential NHL Debut

The Washington Capitals are poised to enhance their roster as they approach the final stretch of the season. On Monday, the team announced the recall of forward Ilya Protas from the Hershey Bears, their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. This move comes as the Capitals aim for a playoff berth, striving for their 17th appearance in 19 seasons.
Protas: A Rising Star
Ilya Protas, a 19-year-old forward from Belarus, has been impressive this season. He leads all AHL rookies in scoring and ranks sixth overall among all AHL players. In 66 games with the Hershey Bears, Protas has netted 28 goals and provided 34 assists, accumulating a total of 62 points.
