Wheat Harvester Crash in UP Kills 2, Injures Several Wedding Guests

Tragedy struck when a wheat harvester collided with a bus carrying wedding guests in Uttar Pradesh, claiming two lives and injuring several others. The incident occurred on the Budaun-Delhi road, specifically in the Mujariya police station area.

The accident happened late on Sunday night when the fast-moving harvester struck the bus from behind. Eyewitnesses reported that the collision was powerful enough to smash the rear of the bus, causing passengers to be thrown onto the road along with their seats.

Injuries and Fatalities

  • Deceased: Sajid, 25, and Farhan, 12, both pronounced dead at the scene.
  • Injured: Over six individuals sustained serious injuries and were transported to the Government Medical College for treatment.

According to authorities, the condition of several injured passengers remains critical. Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Hridayesh Kumar Katheria confirmed that rescue operations were conducted promptly after police arrived at the scene.

Response from Medical Officials

Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Vipin Kumar provided an update, stating that the deceased have been confirmed and that six others are currently receiving medical care. The swift response from the emergency services helped transport the injured to the hospital without delay.

Traffic Impact

Both the bus and harvester were removed from the accident site overnight to restore normal traffic flow on the busy road. Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing as authorities seek to prevent similar incidents in the future.
