Residents near the former Sherwood Hotel in Torquay, Devon, are advised to close their windows due to a significant fire. The blaze, which has caused large amounts of smoke, erupted at a derelict building on Belgrave Road.

Emergency services received the first alert about the fire at approximately 13:50 BST on Sunday. To combat the flames, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service dispatched four fire engines and an aerial ladder platform.
