Yellow Alert: Storms, Gales, and Hail to Hit Over Half the Country

On Thursday morning, meteorologists issued yellow alerts for significant rain, strong winds, and snowfall in mountainous areas across Romania. These alerts are effective from today until Saturday evening, affecting several counties, including Bucharest.

Details of the Alerts
- Rain Alerts: Heavy local rainfall is expected in Oltenia, Muntenia, Dobrogea, Moldova, and southeastern Transylvania.
- Wind Alerts: A wind alert is active from April 2, 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM, with gusts reaching between 50 to 65 km/h in much of Muntenia and southeastern Oltenia.
- Snowfall Alerts: Significant snowfall is predicted in the Southern Carpathians, especially at elevations above 1800 meters, starting from Friday night.
Rainfall Expectations
The rainfall is projected to accumulate between 20 to 30 liters per square meter, with isolated areas experiencing up to 60 liters per square meter by the end of the alert period.
Bucharest Weather Forecast
In Bucharest, gusty conditions are expected until Friday morning. The sky will remain cloudy with moderate rainfall, accumulating about 10-15 liters per square meter.
Temperature and Wind Conditions
- Thursday: Maximum temperature will be 11-12 degrees Celsius.
- Minimum Temperature: Around 7 degrees Celsius.
- Friday Morning: Temperatures will slightly increase to around 15 degrees Celsius.
- Wind Speeds: Gusts may reach up to 50 km/h during the day, decreasing to about 35 km/h later.
Saturday Outlook
On Saturday, the weather will remain variable with showers likely, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms. Winds will be light to moderate throughout the day, maintaining comfortable temperatures.
