Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar will be sidelined due to an upper-body injury, confirmed by the team’s coach, Jared Bednar. Makar sustained the injury during a dominant 9-2 victory against the Calgary Flames.

Cale Makar’s Injury Details

In the match, Makar recorded three assists before leaving the ice. His last play came with just 35 seconds remaining in the second period when he assisted Nathan MacKinnon on a power-play goal. Earlier in the game, he was hit by Flames forward Adam Klapka with over five minutes left in the second period and did not return for the final period.

Coach Bednar addressed the situation, stating, “He’s doing OK. He’s going to miss some time, though. Nothing serious; it’s not putting playoffs in jeopardy.” Bednar emphasized the importance of ensuring Makar is fully fit for the upcoming playoff push.
