Unihertz, a Shanghai-based company, has garnered attention with its diverse collection of phones, including rugged models, compact designs, and devices with full physical keyboards. The latest addition to their lineup, the Titan 2 Elite, is designed specifically for keyboard enthusiasts, featuring several enhancements over its predecessor.

Titan 2 Elite: A Premium 5G Keyboard Phone

Unveiled at MWC 2026, the Titan 2 Elite stands out with its striking anodized orange finish, though it is also available in black. It boasts an injection-molded aluminum frame that enhances both the aesthetics and grip of the device. Unihertz has meticulously crafted the chassis to provide a premium feel.

Battery and Charging

The device houses a 4,050-mAh silicon-carbon battery, supporting 33-W charging. While the battery size is modest, the efficient display may contribute to good battery life.

Unique Keyboard Features

The Titan 2 Elite emphasizes its innovative keyboard, which is backlit and equipped with tactile A-Z keys. Users can create customizable shortcuts and utilize swipe capabilities for on-screen navigation. Unihertz plans to offer QWERTZ and AZERTY keyboard layouts in the future.

Additionally, a dedicated button allows users to launch applications, activate an AI assistant, or access the camera and flashlight instantly. The phone can accommodate two nano SIM cards or one SIM card plus a microSD for expanded storage, along with support for eSIM, making it travel-friendly.

Crowdfunding Campaign and Pricing

Currently, the Titan 2 Elite is being crowdfunded on Kickstarter. The base model is priced at $397, reduced from its anticipated retail price of $489. The Pro variant is available for $479, originally $579. Each purchase includes a charger, case, and screen protector.

Shipping and Availability

With over $2.2 million pledged by nearly 5,000 backers, Unihertz is poised to ship the devices to select countries in North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. The base model is expected to begin shipping in June, while the Pro version is slated for October.

While there may be cheaper alternatives with similar specifications, the Titan 2 Elite’s unique keyboard design makes it particularly appealing for users looking for a productive device. However, as with any crowdfunding project, potential backers should consider the inherent risks involved.
