Mae Martin Eagerly Pursued Hosting the Juno Awards

Canadian comedian Mae Martin has eagerly pursued the opportunity to host the Juno Awards. After growing up admiring the show, Martin took the initiative to engage with Juno staff about getting involved.
This Sunday, March 29, 2026, Martin’s aspiration comes true as they take the stage to host the prestigious awards in Hamilton, Ontario. “I was begging to host it,” Martin shared in an interview with Talia Schlanger. “It wasn’t a case of them reaching out to me. It was truly me campaigning.”
Previous Experience
Martin is not new to live hosting. They recently hosted the 2024 Canadian Screen Awards and have extensive experience performing stand-up comedy. They also released their debut album, I’m A TV, last year.
Inspirational Hosts
As they prepare for the Juno Awards, Martin draws inspiration from iconic hosts like Billy Crystal and Nikki Glaser. “I like people who aren’t too mean spirited but also aren’t afraid to take risks,” Martin explained. They intend to bring a fun and relaxed atmosphere to the event.
