PVM Scholars Honored at Purdue One Health Research Event

Purdue University recently hosted the One Health and Well-Being Research Event, celebrating interdisciplinary health research. This event highlighted the contributions of scholars from the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Purdue One Health Research Event Overview

The College of Health and Human Sciences organized this impactful event in collaboration with multiple colleges, including Purdue Veterinary Medicine. Held on March 10, over 300 attendees gathered at the Purdue Memorial Union’s North and South Ballrooms.

Research Presentations

This year’s event showcased more than 140 research posters, encompassing various aspects of health and well-being related to animals, plants, humans, and the environment. Of these, 16 posters were presented by students and post-doctoral researchers affiliated with the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Poster Competition Winners

The poster competition recognized exceptional researchers within the College of Veterinary Medicine. The winners are as follows:

  • Graduate Student Competition
    • Gold Winner: Ying-Cheng Chen, Department of Basic Medical Sciences, Mentor: Dr. Marxa Figueiredo
    • Silver Winner: Gabriel Harris, Department of Basic Medical Sciences, Mentor: Dr. Marxa Figueiredo
  • Postdoctoral Researcher Competition
    • Gold Winner: Chayan Sharma, Department of Comparative Pathobiology, Mentor: Dr. Christopher A Rice

Appreciation for Judges

Special thanks are extended to the faculty members from Purdue Veterinary Medicine who served as judges for the poster competition:
