Crispin Blunt represented the Reigate constituency from 1997 until his departure from Parliament following the 2024 general election. He served under former Prime Minister David Cameron as the Minister for Prisons and Youth Justice from 2010 to 2012. He also chaired the Foreign Affairs Committee from 2015 to 2017.
Blunt was suspended from the Conservative Party in October 2023 after his arrest. An 18-month investigation into the prior rape allegation concluded in May 2022 with no further action due to a lack of evidence.
