‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Achieves $81M, Records Second-Largest Global Opening for Indian Film

Jio Studios and B62 Studios have achieved a remarkable milestone with the action film Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Directed by Aditya Dhar, this movie has secured the second-largest global opening ever for an Indian film, grossing $81 million (₹761 crores) in its initial five days of release.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge’s opening is notably behind only Pushpa 2 – The Rule, which earned $97.9 million this year. While Pushpa 2 is a Telugu-language film, Dhurandhar belongs to Bollywood, the Hindi-language cinema in India.
In the realm of Hindi films, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has set a new record, surpassing the opening weekend of last year’s action thriller Jawan, which generated $63 million worldwide.
Weekend Box Office Performance
- The global box office for the first three days reached $56.5 million.
- Dhurandhar: The Revenge ranked second globally for the weekend, only behind Project Hail Mary, which made $141 million.

In the United States, the film achieved a weekend total of $10 million and $14 million over the five days from 987 theaters. This performance marks a record opening for a Bollywood film, outpacing Pathaan, which opened at $6.9 million for the 3-day weekend and $9.5 million over five days.
