The Old Vic has announced a significant change in its upcoming production of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.” Michelle Gomez has stepped down from her role as Nurse Ratched due to personal reasons. She will be replaced by Olivia Williams, who is set to join the cast shortly.

Production Details

This adaptation of Dale Wasserman’s play is based on Ken Kesey’s renowned novel. The story is set in a psychiatric hospital and follows Chief Bromden, a long-silent patient. The narrative intensifies with the arrival of Randle P. McMurphy, a rebellious gambler who disrupts the routines established by Nurse Ratched, played by Williams.
