Ikea has officially opened its first store in the Sardinia region, located in Elmas within the Fass Shopping Centre. This significant development spans over 15,000 square meters and features a diverse selection of 9,600 products.

  • Market Hall: 2,600 square meters with 9,600 products
  • Food Area: 950 square meters

The opening of this store marks an important milestone in Ikea’s journey in Italy. It follows the establishment of a pick-up point on Viale Marconi in 2016, which has served over 5 million visitors in the past decade.

Sustainability Initiatives

Sustainability is a cornerstone of Ikea’s strategy in Sardinia. The store offers dedicated services such as “Riporta e Rivendi” and the “Angolo della Circolarità,” initiatives aimed at promoting responsible consumption and giving products a second life.

Community Engagement

The inauguration also included the launch of two social projects in Cagliari in collaboration with the Domus de Luna Foundation. These initiatives focus on:

  • Donating furniture to a property confiscated from organized crime for use as a reception space for families and youth.
  • Establishing a day center for young people facing challenges.

Ikea has previously supported various community projects in Sardinia, partnering with local organizations such as the Elda Mazzocchi Scarzella Association and the Associazione Salesiani per il Sociale.

Leadership Remarks

Alpaslan Deliloglu, CEO of Ikea Italia, expressed his excitement, stating that this opening is a significant step in Ikea’s growth strategy in Italy. He noted that Sardinia plays a crucial role in this development, allowing the company to enhance its presence across the region.

Market Manager Francesca Scisci emphasized the strong demand from Sardinians for a local Ikea store, highlighting that this opening is a culmination of the company’s commitment to improving everyday life through functional and sustainable furniture solutions.
