The upcoming season of “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) is poised to present a mix of the familiar and the new. The show is entering its 51st season with five fresh faces joining the cast. This exciting lineup comes after a monumental 50th season that honored the show’s legacy and creativity.

Bad Bunny Kicks Off SNL Season 51

Music superstar Bad Bunny is set to host the season premiere. This noteworthy event occurs on an impressive week for the artist, who has also been announced as the headliner for the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show. Additionally, he recently concluded a historic residency in Puerto Rico.

This will mark Bad Bunny’s second time as an SNL host, following his memorable appearance in the previous season. He will be joined by musical guest Doja Cat, who will make her debut in this role.

Upcoming Hosts

  • October 11, 2023: Amy Poehler returns for her second solo hosting gig, paired with the first-time musical guest Role Model. This episode coincides with the 50th anniversary of SNL, commemorating its premiere on October 11, 1975.
  • October 18, 2023: Sabrina Carpenter will host and perform as the musical guest, continuing the week’s exciting programming.

This season also features changes in the show’s lineup. Following multiple high-profile departures, the revamped cast introduces new talent, including:

A Season of Recognition

SNL had a remarkable year, receiving 12 Emmy Awards for its 50th season, including a win for Outstanding Variety Special. Lorne Michaels, the show’s creator, reflected on this achievement, recalling his first Emmy win in 1975 and expressing disbelief at the journey of sustaining the show for 50 years.

As SNL embarks on this new chapter, fans eagerly anticipate the blend of fresh talent and established stars, ensuring that entertainment and laughter continue to thrive.
