Manchester Airport Unveils New Changes for British Airways, Ryanair Passengers

Manchester Airport is making notable adjustments for passengers of British Airways and Ryanair as part of its ongoing transformation of Terminal 2, which represents a £1.3 billion investment in the airport’s infrastructure.

Changes for British Airways Passengers

Beginning October 7, British Airways will transition its operations to Terminal 2. This move aligns with the relocation of other airlines, including Aer Lingus, Luxair, and Finnair, to the same terminal.

Passengers can expect enhanced amenities, including new dining options and retail outlets. Among the newly opened establishments are Joe and The Juice, along with a Lego store, providing a broader selection for travelers.

Ryanair Operations Update

From October 21, Ryanair passengers should note a significant change. They will now check in using the Terminal 1 Departures A entrance instead of the usual Terminal 3 entrance. After check-in, passengers will navigate through newly established security lanes before following a clearly marked route into Terminal 3’s departure lounge.

Despite these changes, all shops and dining venues within Terminal 3 will remain accessible to Ryanair travelers. This arrangement will persist until Terminal 1 officially closes, at which point the Terminal 3 entrance will be renamed and will permanently serve as the main entrance.

Terminal 3 Revamp

While these adjustments are made, construction is already underway on a significant renovation of Terminal 3. The redevelopment is designed to create a larger terminal, benefitting from space made available by the closure of Terminal 1.

  • 40% more seating capacity.
  • Enhanced facilities and space.
  • State-of-the-art security equipment.
  • New shops and dining options.

A notable feature of the renovation is a large sports bar called Sporting Chance. This venue will seat 469 guests, offer stunning views of the airfield, and broadcast a variety of sporting events.

Passengers arriving at the airport will continue to do so through Terminal 3, ensuring consistency as the ongoing transformation progresses.

Manchester Airport encourages passengers to reach out for assistance during this transition. Staff will be available to help navigate both Terminal 2 and the new processes for Ryanair travelers.
