Arteta Provides Injury Updates on Gabriel and Hincapie

Mikel Arteta has shared important updates regarding the injuries of defenders Gabriel and Piero Hincapie ahead of a critical match against West Ham United.

Gabriel’s Injury Update

Gabriel, the Brazilian centre-back, was substituted in the 75th minute during the recent match against Olympiacos due to a collision with teammate David Raya. Despite this, Arsenal secured a solid 2-0 victory, marking their second consecutive win in the Champions League.

As the team prepares for another challenging fixture, Arteta is cautious about Gabriel’s availability. He indicated that while there is no long-term damage, Gabriel’s participation remains uncertain. In his pre-match press conference, Arteta stated, “We will have to wait and see after training and see how everybody is. We weren’t too concerned about it.”

Piero Hincapie’s Condition

Piero Hincapie will certainly miss the upcoming London derby due to a groin issue he sustained after his debut against Athletic Club two weeks ago. Arteta expressed optimism regarding Hincapie’s recovery timeline, suggesting that he could return post-international break. He noted, “We’ve been trying to do everything as fast as possible [to get him fit], but this game came too fast.”

Other Injury Concerns

In addition to Gabriel and Hincapie, Arsenal is also managing the injuries of Noni Madueke, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Jesus. All three players are currently undergoing rehabilitation for knee injuries.

  • Gabriel: Injury from collision, status uncertain for West Ham.
  • Piero Hincapie: Groin injury, expected to return after international break.
  • Noni Madueke: Rehabbing knee injury.
  • Kai Havertz: Rehabbing knee injury.
  • Gabriel Jesus: Rehabbing knee injury.

Arsenal fans will be eagerly anticipating the update on their key defenders as the team aims for a fourth consecutive win across all competitions.
