Jacki Weaver Cast in NBC’s ‘The Rockford Files’ Reboot

Oscar-nominated actress Jacki Weaver has officially joined the cast of NBC’s upcoming reboot of “The Rockford Files.” The pilot, which was ordered by NBC in January, aims to revive the classic series originally aired from 1974 to 1980.
Cast Details
Weaver will portray a new character named Karma. This role is an addition not found in the original series. Karma is described as a long-time neighbor of the protagonist, known for her toughness and activism. She works as a think-tank analyst, adding depth to her character.
Joining Weaver in the cast is David Boreanaz, who headlines the show as Jim Rockford. Rockford is characterized as a witty and world-weary private investigator, recently paroled after serving time for a crime he didn’t commit. Michaela McManus is also part of the ensemble, playing Kate, a detective with a complicated romantic history with Rockford. Their relationship becomes strained after Rockford’s allegations against fellow officers.
Production Team
The upcoming pilot is produced by Universal Television under the supervision of writer and executive producer Mike Daniels. Other executive producers include Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman, with Chris Leanza serving as co-executive producer. Greg Mottola will direct and executive produce the episode.
