Michael Sheen Leads Confirmed Cast for “Our Town”

The highly anticipated revival of Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, “Our Town,” is set to feature a distinguished cast led by Michael Sheen. This production, presented by the Welsh National Theatre, marks a significant milestone as it will be performed by an all-Welsh cast and creative team for the very first time in 87 years.

The play will debut at the Swansea Grand Theatre, from January 16 to 31, 2026. Following its premiere, it will tour various venues across Wales before arriving at the Rose Theatre in Kingston upon Thames.

The national press night is scheduled for January 21, 2026, in Swansea. Goodridge notes that the production aims to reflect the essence of “hiraeth,” a Welsh sense of longing. Sheen, also the artistic director, views this as an opportunity to showcase a Welsh interpretation of a classic play, enriching both the national and London theater scenes.
