Brock Purdy to Miss Next Week’s Game, Report Confirms

The San Francisco 49ers will face another challenge as quarterback Brock Purdy is set to miss the upcoming Week 6 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Reports indicate that an aggravation of his toe injury has led to this decision.

Injury Updates: Brock Purdy

Brock Purdy initially injured his toe during the season opener against the Seattle Seahawks. After missing two games, he returned and played against the Jacksonville Jaguars, completing 22 of 38 passes for 309 yards, alongside two touchdowns and two interceptions.

However, following that game, Purdy experienced a flare-up in his toe injury and did not participate in practice this week. NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport states that Purdy received an MRI, which confirmed the aggravation of his turf toe.

Quarterback Situation

With Purdy sidelined, Mac Jones will start in his place for the Thursday Night Football match against the Los Angeles Rams. This will mark Jones’s third start of the season.

  • Mac Jones’s completion percentage: 66.3%, with 563 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception.
  • Brock Purdy’s season stats: 65.8% completion rate, 586 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions.

Jones will face additional hurdles as he will be without key wide receivers Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings, both sidelined due to injuries. As the team navigates these challenges, Purdy’s situation remains categorized as week to week, leaving fans eager for updates.
