Paddy McGuinness Reacts to ITV’s Cost-Cutting Measures
This year has seen significant changes at ITV. The broadcaster has implemented a revamp of its daytime schedule as part of its new cost-saving strategy. These moves are expected to eliminate around 220 jobs.
Changes to Daytime Programming
A key aspect of the changes includes modifications to the airtime of popular shows:
- Good Morning Britain: Now has an additional half-hour slot from Monday to Friday.
- Lorraine Kelly’s Show: Reduced from one hour to a 30-minute slot, airing from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM.
- Loose Women: Set to run only 30 weeks a year instead of weekly broadcasts.
Next week’s broadcast will mark the first absence of both Lorraine and Loose Women in 2026. Meanwhile, This Morning continues to air on weekdays from 10 AM to 12:30 PM but has moved production from Television Centre in London after seven years.
New Production Location
The daytime programs, including This Morning, Lorraine, and Loose Women, are now filmed at The H Club Studio in Covent Garden. This new studio setup features a 360-degree set with LED walls, facilitating a faster turnaround time between shows and maximizing studio space utilization.
