Takele and Kebede Return to Defend Titles at Tokyo Marathon

Defending champions Tadese Takele and Sutume Asefa Kebede are set to return to the Tokyo Marathon. They aim to join an elite group of athletes who have won this prestigious race more than once. Kebede, victorious in both the 2024 and 2025 Tokyo Marathons, holds the course record of 2:15:55.   • Milkesa Mengesha (ETH) – Winner of the Berlin Marathon with a PB of 2:03:17.
  • Vincent Kipkemoi Ngetich (KEN) – Consistent performer with a PB of 2:03:13.
  • Selemon Barega (ETH) – Former Olympic champion, now transitioning to marathon running.
