Details of the Fentanyl Trafficking Investigation
This investigation involved the collaboration between the Brunswick County Vice and Narcotics Unit, road patrol deputies, and a K-9 unit. The law enforcement operations included a traffic stop on February 5, which prompted an in-depth inquiry.
Arrested Individuals
- Charles Demonte McGhee, 26 years old, from Wilmington.
- Tanaisha Renae Pridgen, 23 years old, also from Wilmington.
Charges Filed
McGhee faces several serious charges, including:
- Three counts of trafficking opium or heroin.
- Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver a Schedule I controlled substance.
- Possession of drug paraphernalia.
Pridgen has been charged with:
- Conspiracy to traffic opium or heroin.
- Maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for controlled substances.
- Possession of drug paraphernalia.
Current Status
Both suspects have been processed at the Brunswick County Detention Center. McGhee remains in custody as the investigation continues.
