Democrats Invite Epstein Survivors to Attend Trump’s State of the Union

At a significant political event, several House Democrats have invited survivors of Jeffrey Epstein to attend President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address. This evening’s joint session of Congress will include notable guests aiming to highlight issues related to Epstein’s legacy and the ongoing fight for justice.
Invitations Extended to Epstein Survivors
Among the attendees is Rep. Ro Khanna from California, one of the architects of the Epstein Transparency Act, which facilitated the release of numerous documents regarding Epstein’s activities. Khanna will be accompanied by Haley Robson, who has alleged she was trafficked by Epstein starting at the age of 16.
Khanna expressed, “Haley’s courageous fight is proof that this isn’t about politics; it’s about exposing America’s two-tiered system of justice.” Robson shared her gratitude for the invitation, acknowledging its significance in her ongoing struggle for accountability.
Other Key Democratic Guests
- Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland will host Sky and Amanda Roberts, relatives of Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre.
- Rep. Melanie Stansbury from New Mexico invited state Rep. Andrea Romero, who is investigating Epstein’s activities in New Mexico.
- Rep. Maxine Dexter, D-Ore., is sending Lisa Phillips as her representative, stating, “Her presence will send a clear message: Epstein survivors will not be silenced.”
- Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington is bringing Marijke Chartouni, a local constituent and Epstein survivor.
- Rep. Robert Garcia of California will be accompanied by survivor Annie Farmer, emphasizing the need for complete transparency in the ongoing investigations.
Political Responses and Concerns
Some survivors have voiced their discontent with how the Trump administration has handled the Epstein case. Critics argue that the Justice Department’s prosecution efforts have been inadequate and highlight concerns over the redaction of names in the released files. They emphasize that certain legal rights have been overlooked in the process.
Ahead of the address, several lawmakers, including Stansbury and Raskin, plan to hold a press conference with the survivors. They will focus on calling for accountability regarding Epstein’s actions and the systemic failures that allowed such abuses to occur.
Alternative Events and Presence at the Address
While some Democrats plan to attend the State of the Union, others are opting for a concurrent event dubbed the “People’s State of the Union” on the National Mall. Notable attendees for the alternative event include Senators Ed Markey and Jeff Merkley, along with several House members.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal intends to attend Trump’s address, highlighting his belief in the importance of confronting the President directly. In contrast, many lawmakers participating in the alternative gathering express their solidarity with survivors and their commitment to seeking justice.
The involvement of Epstein survivors at such a prominent event reflects an ongoing demand for accountability and justice for those affected by his crimes.
