Charley Crockett Cancels Canadian Tour After U.S. Entry Refusal

Charley Crockett, the Texas country music sensation, has canceled his upcoming Canadian tour following a refusal of entry into the country. The denial stems from a past felony drug conviction, which has now impacted his career.
Tour Cancellations Due to Entry Refusal
Crockett was scheduled to perform at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver. The refusal occurred after attempts to enter Canada, specifically in Vancouver and Kelowna, B.C. The Immigration and Refugee Act under subsection 44(1) led to this decision due to his 2016 felony conviction for drug charges.
- 2014: Arrested in Virginia for felony possession and trafficking of marijuana.
- Conviction resulted in a 10-year suspended sentence and a US$10,000 fine.
- Probation followed the sentence.
This abrupt cancellation affects multiple concert locations, including Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, and Toronto, among others. Announcing the cancellation on Instagram, Crockett expressed regret, acknowledging the disappointment for fans in Canada.

Despite this setback, Crockett had successfully toured Canada less than a year ago, performing in Toronto with fellow artist Leon Bridges. He reflected on his fond experiences and the warmth of Canadian fans in his apology.
