El-Balad has announced exciting cast updates for the upcoming production of *Jesus Christ Superstar* at the London Palladium. This iconic musical, which explores the final days of Jesus Christ, will run for a limited season from June 20 to September 5, 2024.
New Cast Members for *Jesus Christ Superstar*
The show features an impressive cast. Sam Ryder will make his West End debut in the titular role of Jesus. The character of Herod will be portrayed by six artists across the performance run:
- Jesse Tyler Ferguson: June 20 – July 11
- Simon Russell Beale: July 13 – July 25
- Richard Armitage: July 27 – August 1
- Boy George: August 3 – August 15 (excluding August 8)
- Layton Williams: August 17 – August 29
- Julian Clary: August 31 – September 5
Production Details
*Jesus Christ Superstar* debuted on Broadway in 1971 and found its way to the West End the following year. It last appeared in London at the Barbican Theatre in 2019. Tim Sheader will direct this revival at the Palladium, promising vibrant performances and memorable musical moments.
