Discover Joy in Chasing Sault’s Tallest Snowbank

Rob Trembinski, a real estate agent in Sault Ste. Marie, recently discovered what might be the tallest residential snowbank in the area. While exploring the winter landscapes in his city, he posed a fun question on Facebook: “Who has the tallest snowbank in the Sault?” His inquiry sparked significant interest.
Record-Breaking Snowbank Discovery
The first-ever snowbank contest led to a surprising outcome. Trembinski collaborated with videographer Jacob Cedolia from First Fruit Films. Together, they traveled around the city, measuring various snowbanks with a measuring tape in hand. “We did a quick video, and it had around 37,000 views,” Trembinski noted.
The contest rules were straightforward: participants needed to find the tallest snowbank. The winning snowbank measured over 13 feet tall. Trembinski mentioned that additional snowfall since the measurement might have increased its height. “I’m sure there’s bigger ones,” he said. However, he realized the importance of time management in his real estate role.
Prizes and Community Engagement
The homeowner of the winning snowbank, who was not present during the visit, will receive their choice of a $50 gift card to either Tim Horton’s or Tuomo’s Stubbornly Finnish Food. Trembinski added, “I don’t think they intentionally set out to create the biggest snowbank, but they’ll still get $50 out of it.” Additionally, finalists received bags of popcorn from Cornucopia Gourmet Popcorn Co., a local business.
Trembinski emphasized the success of the snowbank videos. Typically, videos showcasing homes for sale receive a few hundred clicks, while the snowbank videos have attracted between 10,000 to 15,000 views each. “I’m increasingly recognized in public as the ‘guy from Exit Realty who does the snowbank videos,’” he shared.
Future of the Snowbank Contest
Rob Trembinski expressed enthusiasm about making the snowbank contest an annual event. “Given the amount of snow we receive, I believe it should be a yearly tradition,” he stated.
