TVDSB Skills Competition Highlights Student Talent in Skilled Trades

The Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) is set to celebrate student talent in skilled trades with its annual Skills Competition. This year’s event is scheduled for Wednesday, February 18, 2026, and it will feature around 135 secondary students and 60 elementary observers.

Event Details

The competition will take place mainly at Fanshawe College’s London Campus. Additionally, there will be contests held at two other Fanshawe locations in Woodstock and downtown London.

Competitions and Skills Showcase

The TVDSB Skills Competition is a vibrant showcase of skilled trades education. It’s structured similar to a Track and Field event, where each contest reflects a specific trade or technology.

  • Photography
  • Precision machining
  • Hairstyling
  • Baking
  • Carpentry

Participants will compete across 15 hands-on contests. Finalists will have the opportunity to progress to regional or provincial competitions, representing TVDSB and competing against top talents from across Ontario.
