In a remarkable achievement, Madhav Viradiya has emerged as the top scorer from Maharashtra in the JEE Main Session 1, achieving a perfect score of 100 percentile. This announcement was made on the evening of February 17, 2026, a moment that reflects Madhav’s dedication and hard work in his pursuit to join the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
Madhav’s Journey to Success
Originally from Gujarat, Madhav made the bold decision to relocate to Mumbai to enhance his JEE preparation. He enrolled at Narayana Junior College in Andheri, which is renowned for its comprehensive JEE coaching. This decision was influenced by a friend’s success after attending the same institute.
Inspiration and Support
“A friend who studied here cleared the JEE-Advanced with an impressive All India Rank within the top 50. He highly recommended this institute, which convinced me to move,” said Madhav. His ambitions are set on joining IIT Bombay, known for its competitive entrance criteria.
Madhav is currently preparing for his Class 12 CBSE examinations and plans to sit for the JEE Main’s second session in April, primarily for practice. However, his main focus is on succeeding in the JEE-Advanced examination, which serves as the gateway to IITs.
His elder brother, Poojal, is already paving the way as an IITian, studying metallurgical engineering at IIT Jodhpur. “He also attended coaching in Kota, and he inspires me every day. My father, who has an engineering background, motivated me to pursue this path,” he shared.

This year, a total of 1,304,653 students nationwide competed in Session 1 of the JEE Main. Out of these candidates, only 12 achieved a perfect score of 100 percentile, with Madhav standing out as the sole top scorer from Maharashtra.
