Additional edits included:
- A specific word was muted in one scene.
- An inappropriate term was completely removed.
Although the romantic and intimate scenes remained intact, the board scrutinized a few violent moments. Key edits consisted of:
- A 20% reduction (3 seconds) in a throat-cutting close-up.
- A 2-second reduction in shots of a bloodied head and blood spraying onto a woman’s face.
- A 20% cut (2 seconds) from a visual of a woman being slapped.
In addition, the film now features enhanced anti-tobacco and anti-smoking disclaimers. These modifications, including an extended voice-over, added 1 minute and 57 seconds to the overall runtime.
Final Runtime and Certification
After implementing the required changes, O’Romeo received its censor certificate on February 11. The film’s official runtime is now clocked at 178.41 minutes, translating to 2 hours and 58 minutes and 41 seconds.
