Pokémon Original Partner cards are slated to hit the market on March 20, 2026. Although the English version of the release date has yet to be announced, it was confirmed on Pokémon’s Chinese website. The cards will be available from 10 AM on that date at a suggested retail price of 39 yuan, approximately $5.64.
What to Expect from the Original Partner Cards
The Pokémon Original Partner set, formally known as the 30th Anniversary Celebration: Original Partner Special Illustration Flash Card Set Vol. 1, will feature nine unique cards. These cards celebrate the original starter Pokémon from three regions: Kanto, Sinnoh, and Alola. Each box will contain one randomly selected card.
Details of the Card Set
- Kanto starters: Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle
- Sinnoh starters: Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup
- Alolan starters: Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio
These cards will not only showcase adorable illustrations but also incorporate details that evoke nostalgia. Notably, arranging three special-illustration cards from the same region will create a continuous long illustration.
Additional Features
The set will also come with an acrylic magnetic card display frame, allowing players to showcase their cards on metal surfaces. Furthermore, a bonus Brilliant Fantasy booster pack will be included with each purchase, enhancing the overall value of the set.
Looking ahead, we anticipate the release of Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 later in the year. These expansions are expected to feature starter Pokémon from the remaining generations, which include Johto, Hoenn, and Unova.
For fans of the Pokémon franchise, the Original Partner cards represent an exciting celebration of nostalgia and gameplay. Stay tuned for more updates from El-Balad as the release date approaches.
