Norgaard Discusses UCL Aspirations, Nordic Connections at Press Conference

Christian Norgaard is embracing his inaugural season with Arsenal. The Danish midfielder, who transferred from Brentford during the summer, has quickly adapted to the competitive environment at his new club.
Norgaard’s Impact on Arsenal’s Campaign
Norgaard has contributed significantly to Arsenal’s ongoing endeavors in various competitions. Thus far, he has appeared in four out of the team’s seven Champions League matches. He reflected positively on his experience, stating, “It’s been a fantastic experience for me so far this season.”
Despite not playing as extensively as he did at Brentford, Norgaard is eager to make the most of every opportunity. “I would obviously love to play more minutes, but the minutes I’ve had so far have been enjoyable,” he said during a press conference.
Competition in the Midfield
The Danish international is aware of the fierce competition for playing time at Arsenal, particularly among star players like Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi. He welcomed this challenge, expressing that training alongside such talented teammates is a joy. “It’s fantastic players, and honestly a joy coming in every day,” he noted.
Norgaard is committed to remaining patient and hardworking, believing that more chances will arise as the season progresses. “Now it’s just about being patient and hopefully more chances will come,” he added.
Looking Ahead: Trophy Aspirations
As Arsenal vies for titles in multiple tournaments, Norgaard believes he still has a vital role to play. He emphasized his strong communication with the coaching staff, acknowledging their honest and encouraging feedback. “I think coming towards the end of the season, hopefully we will also need the whole squad,” he remarked.
If Arsenal wins trophies this season, it would be a cherished addition to Norgaard’s personal achievements, many of which have been meticulously documented by his grandmother. “She collects articles from different papers during the year, and it’s the best Christmas present I get every year,” he shared.
This tradition of scrapbooking has become a special family moment, where they gather to reminisce over his football journey. “Hopefully my boys will look at these scrapbooks and see that daddy was alright at football!” he concluded.
