Celtic Fringe Player Departs to Join German Second Division Team

Shin Yamada has officially left Celtic FC after just six months at the club. The Japanese forward made a move to Celtic Park last year but has found limited playing time.

Transfer Details of Shin Yamada

Yamada joined Celtic from Kawasaki Frontale in the J.League for a reported £1.5 million. He signed a four-year contract in July. Unfortunately, his tenure hasn’t been fruitful, with Yamada making only 11 appearances across all competitions. His lone start was against Livingston on August 23.

Loan to Preussen Munster

In a recent announcement, Celtic confirmed that Yamada will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Preussen Munster, a club in Germany’s second division. Currently, Preussen Munster is struggling, sitting 15th out of 18 teams.

Celtic’s Transfer Activity

Yamada is not the only player departing the club. Hayato Inamura, another signing from Japan, also left Celtic recently after making just one appearance. He has joined FC Tokyo on loan.

Celtic supporters are hopeful that Yamada’s exit could pave the way for a new striker. Earlier this month, the club secured Tomas Cvancara on loan from Borussia Monchengladbach. Cvancara debuted in a 2-2 draw against Hearts, adding to Celtic’s attacking options.

Recent Striker Struggles

The striker position has been a challenge for Celtic over the past year. Key players like Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah have been sold, and replacement signings have struggled to make an impact. Kelechi Iheanacho, signed on a free transfer after the summer deadline, has also faced injury issues.

As the transfer deadline approaches, Celtic fans are eagerly awaiting any new developments regarding incoming talent.
