BMO Reinvents Loyalty Programs with Blue Rewards Launch

BMO has announced the launch of its new loyalty program, Blue Rewards, which will replace the existing AIR MILES program in the summer of 2026. This initiative aims to enhance the customer experience by providing a more flexible and rewarding loyalty system for all Canadians. Blue Rewards will continue to be operated by a subsidiary of BMO.
Transitioning from AIR MILES to Blue Rewards
Beginning in summer 2026, existing AIR MILES collectors will see their Miles automatically convert to Blue Points. This conversion will maintain the equivalent value, ensuring a seamless transition for millions of members. BMO will communicate further details to AIR MILES credit and debit card holders in the upcoming months.
Key Features of Blue Rewards
- Simplified Reward System: Members will earn Blue Points, consolidating Cash and Dream Miles into a single type of reward.
- Travel Redemption: A new platform for booking flights, hotels, and car rentals powered by Expedia Group will enhance the travel experience.
- Expanded Partner Network: Members can earn rewards at over 400 brands, including popular retailers and restaurants like Pharmasave and MTY Group.
- Grocery and Fuel Earnings: Members will benefit from earning points on grocery and fuel purchases while scanning receipts via the Blue Rewards app.
Benefits for BMO Clients
BMO Chequing Account holders will have the opportunity to earn Blue Points on everyday purchases, including gas and groceries. The new Blue Rewards credit cards will offer exceptional value and benefits tailored to enhance daily transactions.
