The suspicious item was located at Door 21 of the South Terminal, on the Departures level. Upon arrival, deputies identified the luggage and decided to evacuate the surrounding area as a precautionary measure.

MIA Spokesperson Greg Chin confirmed the evacuation affected several airport operations. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoints for Concourses G, H, and J have been closed. Additionally, the curbside roadway is also blocked off, leading to heavy traffic in the vicinity.
