Raptors’ Barrett, Murray-Boyles Now Questionable Against Blazers

RJ Barrett and rookie Collin Murray-Boyles have both been upgraded to questionable for the Toronto Raptors’ upcoming game against the Portland Trail Blazers. The team announced this update on Thursday, raising hopes for Barrett’s return.
Injury Updates for Raptors vs. Blazers
Barrett has missed the last seven games due to a left ankle sprain sustained on January 9 against the Boston Celtics. The Canadian forward has been present with the team during their road trip and has actively participated in practices and shootarounds.
The 25-year-old Barrett has had a notable season when healthy. He averages 19.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists, shooting 49.6% from the field and 35.5% from beyond the arc.
Collin Murray-Boyles’ Status
Murray-Boyles also faces uncertainty heading into the game. He has been sidelined for the last two contests due to a left thumb contusion sustained against the Los Angeles Lakers. Additionally, he has been diagnosed with a sprained thumb.
The rookie forward has emerged as a significant contributor for the Raptors amid various injuries affecting the roster. In 37 games this season, he averages 7.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.0 assists.
Other Player Updates
In contrast, Ja’Kobe Walter and Jakob Poeltl have been ruled out for the upcoming matchup. Poeltl, who has not played since December 21, visited a specialist on Thursday to address his ongoing back issues.
Currently, the Raptors hold a 27-19 record, placing them fourth in the Eastern Conference. They trail the first-place Detroit Pistons by seven games.
