Communities in Metro Detroit should brace for a challenging morning commute due to anticipated snowfall. Snow is forecasted to begin in the early hours, with the heaviest accumulation expected between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Snowfall Predictions

The snowfall totals are projected to be as follows:

  • Areas between I-94 and I-69: 2 to 3 inches, with some local amounts approaching 4 inches.
  • Regions south of I-94 and north of I-69: 1 to 2 inches.

Travelers should remain cautious as winter driving conditions could lead to slow travel throughout Wednesday, specifically during the peak morning hours. High temperatures are expected to reach the low 30s.

Continued Snow and Cold Conditions

Scattered snow showers may persist into the evening and some may continue into Thursday, possibly adding another 1 to 2 inches of snow. Following this, a significant blast of Arctic air is anticipated to descend on the region from Friday onward, bringing extremely cold temperatures.
