Jets to Host Alumni Game Before 2026 Heritage Classic

Excitement is building in Winnipeg for an upcoming alumni game. This event is set to take place as part of the Heritage Classic festivities. The game will feature former players from both the Winnipeg Jets and the Montreal Canadiens.

The alumni game is scheduled for January 24 at Princess Auto Stadium, home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. This game will serve as a precursor to the Heritage Classic, where the Jets will play against the Canadiens on January 25.

Captains Announced

Blake Wheeler, the longtime captain of the Jets, will lead the team’s alumni. Wheeler expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with former teammates. “It’s good to spend the weekend with your former teammates,” he said.

On the Canadiens’ side, Winnipeg native Mike Keane will serve as captain. Keane was part of Montreal’s 1993 Stanley Cup-winning team. He shared his excitement, stating, “It’s going to be a lot of fun. I’m hoping for a 10-10 tie.”
