Central Ohio Schools Cancel Classes on Jan. 20 Due to Cold Weather

Central Ohio schools have canceled classes on January 20 due to frigid weather conditions. As temperatures significantly drop, many districts have altered their schedules to prioritize student safety.

Cold Weather Advisory in Central Ohio

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a cold weather advisory for central Ohio, effective from January 16 through January 20. This advisory covers several counties, including:

  • Franklin
  • Union
  • Delaware
  • Madison
  • Licking
  • Parts of west central Ohio
  • Parts of east central Indiana

On January 20, temperatures are expected to reach a high around 22 degrees, though the wind chill could feel as cold as -3 degrees. Previously, during Martin Luther King Jr. Day, temperatures dropped to -8 degrees with wind chills near -15 degrees.
