Noem Condemns Anchor for “Doxxing” ICE Agent’s Identity

Kristi Noem, the head of the Department of Homeland Security, strongly criticized Margaret Brennan, host of “Face the Nation,” for revealing the identity of ICE agent Jonathan Ross during a recent broadcast. This incident follows a shooting involving Ross, in which he killed Renee Good in Minneapolis earlier this month.

The Trump administration asserts that Ross acted in self-defense as Good tried to hit him with her vehicle. Video evidence indicates that Good was attempting to escape a chaotic situation, even as Ross continued to fire at her car after he was no longer in imminent danger.

Noem’s Response to Doxxing Concerns

During the interview, as Brennan sought to discuss Ross’s current status in Minneapolis, Noem interrupted her. She firmly stated, “Don’t say his name! For heaven’s sake, we shouldn’t have people continue to dox law enforcement.” Noem argued that while Ross’s name might be part of public records, it shouldn’t be freely mentioned due to the dangers faced by law enforcement personnel and their families.

When pressed by Brennan about whether Ross had returned to work, Noem declined to provide that information. She expressed concern over the potential risks to Ross and his family following the incident.

Detainee Incident Discussion

Noem also faced questions regarding her administration’s actions concerning Aliya Rahman’s detention and the tear gassing of a family with an infant during confrontations between ICE and protesters. Brennan directly asked if these tactics seemed excessive.

Noem defended the actions of her department, stating, “That family would have never been in that situation if protestors were acting peacefully.” She attributed the violence to the lack of control by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.

Noem concluded that the situation was unfortunate for the affected family and reiterated her concerns about the escalating violence in Minneapolis, emphasizing that local leadership played a key role in the unrest.
